Media, PA – Delaware County

The borough of Media, which sits about 12 miles west of Philadelphia, became the very first fair trade town in American in mid-2006. The John J. Tyler Arboretum, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located in Media; a branch of the Delaware County Community College is located nearby. Media will probably always be remembered, however, as the location of the secret government documents that were seized by activists in 1971, and which led to the FBI’s COINTELPRO scandal.
